Reed Hannebaum

Prior to joining MAVERICK Technologies, Reed Hannebaum was the owner of an engineering firm for 13 years. As the head of his own firm, Reed was able to utilize his then-18+ years of experience in discrete manufacturing and packaging. In 1993, he joined MAVERICK as Director — Identification Technology. In this position, Reed has applied his sales, management and technical experience to support a variety of vision inspection related projects. This support includes introductory and closing client calls, proposal writing and estimation, project management and engineering.

By bringing on board clients from his former company, Reed has helped garner new business for MAVERICK, particularly in the aerospace industry. Reed's multidisciplinary technical experience includes electrical, mechanical and software engineering, plus mathematical modeling and optimization. Reed is located in MAVERICK's Midwest headquarters but extends his support to all the regional offices.

Reed has a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a Master's degree in applied mathematics both from Washington University. His undergraduate studies were fully funded by a work-study scholarship. After graduating, he worked at Brown Shoe Co., eventually becoming the Assistant Director of R&D. In 1984, he left Brown to work for Boise Cascade and eventually became the Manager of the Technical Support Group. Boise sold this division to a Sonoco Products/Graham Packaging joint venture, which eventually closed the technology center where he worked. Despite offers from both Sonoco and Graham, Reed started his own engineering company and hired several people who previously worked for him. Leveraging vision inspection as a differentiating technology, his company quickly grew.

Reed is a registered PE in the states of Illinois and Missouri, as well as a Certified Automation Professional (CAP). He maintains his membership in several professional societies, including ISA, AIA and IEEE. He is the sole owner of a patented inspection technology, and is a joint inventor of several pending patents with Boeing Aircraft.

Reed's personal interests include spending time with his family and friends, outdoor activities and traveling.
